Preschool Program
The Preschool Program at Marina View Preschool is for children ages 2.9 to 4 years. To be enrolled in this program your child must be fully potty trained, his/hers language skills adequately developed, and he/she is able to understand and follow directions. The teacher to student ratio in the preschool class is 1:12.
The emphasis of this program is on providing a foundation for positive self-image and providing developmentally appropriate cognitive instruction and exploration.
Our Preschool Program encourages and promotes a healthy balance of developmental and academic readiness.Through classroom instruction in teacher-led and child initiated activities, children are able to work in large groups, small groups, and independently of one another.
Children learn at their own pace and are encouraged to follow their own interest. Children have a choice of materials and a freedom of movement in the classroom. However, freedom is directly related to their ability to use these materials with self-discipline.
Language development, listening skills, and fine and gross motor skills are an integral part of the daily curriculum.
Children spend a portion of their day rotating through Learning Centers which are set up in their classroom.
They also participate in Morning Circle Time, Music and Movement, Art, Outside Play Time, and Science activities that are based on the weekly curriculum.
Children are also introduced to Spanish.
Parents are given a weekly report on Friday. The “Weekly Preschool Report” outlines the activities that your preschooler participated in.
